While modern alternatives have carved their place, the preference for a traditional full body burial (below ground) or mausoleum entombment (above ground) is still preferred by many. Ground Burial
We have a wide range of gardens available for traditional full body burial. From our modern gardens to our wooded historic gardens, the majestic grounds of Green Lawn offer a place for everyone and options for virtually any budget.
The historic sections of Green Lawn Cemetery are truly special, featuring majestic trees and natural terrain, enveloped by stately monuments and history of a bygone era. For some, these timeless historic areas are perfect location to consider.
It is important to note that a
casket and an outer burial container (vault) are required for a full body burial at Green Lawn Cemetery.
Mausoleum Crypt Spaces
A crypt space in an above-ground mausoleum provides a clean, dry, and permanent resting place for family members in a way that allows a continuing feeling of closeness that an in-ground burial does not. Two above-ground mausoleum options are available at Green Lawn Cemetery:
- The historic Huntington Chapel - opened in 1902 - offers a limited remaining supply of indoor mausoleum crypts surrounded by timeless beauty. Adorned by Tiffany & Co. stained-glass windows, mosaic murals, and a glass-domed rotunda, this architectural gem is the heart of Green Lawn Cemetery. The artistic splendor of the surroundings creates an exquisite and peaceful sanctuary.
- Families can also schedule a committal service to be held in the Huntington Chapel if they desire. Charges do apply.
- Prairie View Mausoleums offer modern and affordable outdoor crypt spaces. Adjacent to the prairie and nearby woods the setting in peaceful and dignified. The fifth building is Prairie View Mausoleum complex is scheduled to be constructed in mid-2025.

Family Estates

Private Mausoleum
A private mausoleum - or a family mausoleum - is an above-ground building designed as a final resting place for one or several family members. It offers complete privacy as well as many design and customization options.
Private mausoleum designs range from traditional walk-in buildings to modern low-profile mausoleums.
