LGBTQ+ Community Garden (Section 129)
Green Lawn Cemetery is pleased to announce the opening of a new LGBTQ+ Community Garden – an innovative new section where the LGBTQ+ community is warmly welcomed, lives are celebrated, and inspiring memorials are encouraged.
The garden represents a continuum of care for the LGBTQ+ Community and a dedicated place where generations of LGBTQ+ persons, friends, and family can be remembered and celebrated.
Inspired by "Gay Corner" in Congressional Cemetery (Washington D.C), Green Lawn's LGBTQ+ Community Garden is believed to be second such dedicated garden in the country for the LGBTQ+ community. It has over 500 burial spaces and soon two columbaria with niches for cremation urns.
The section will also eventually have a central art feature that the LGBTQ+ community will help choose.
Rest assured, Green Lawn's staff is fully committed and trained to welcome and serve everyone with warmth, sensitivity and professionalism. All are welcome here!
